I am Danielle, also known as The Squamish Medium.

I am an Indigenous spiritual medium, mentor, and entrepreneur with over 13 years of experience, celebrated for my space-holding abilities as seen in my sold-out retreats, workshops, and events. I am Swampy Cree, York Factory First Nations, with mixed Scottish ancestry and a mother of two young children with a passion for speaking candidly about my journey of healing through mediumship development and building a successful spiritual business and engaged community.

In 2026 this work became a TV show. Squamish Medium which premiered on APTN, filmed in Squamish and Indigenous communities, following what this path actually looks like for an Indigenous woman, mom, medium and entrepeneur doing this work. The series documents my reconnection journey to my ancestry and traditional territories.

The path of mediumship and entrepreneurship has been deeply restorative for me and my lineage, strengthening my commitment to rematriating spiritual spaces by cultivating community, offering compassionate mentorship, restoring balance, and reconnecting to earth-based practices.

My intention is to normalize conversations about spirituality while honouring our shared humanity. I pray my legacy inspires others to live curious, expansive, and joyful lives while proudly representing and serving the Spirit World and my Ancestors.

MY Philosophy

I envision a world where spiritual growth is something everyone gets to claim, not something reserved for the credentialed or the already healed. I lead like my ancestors led: in circle, in relationship, without gatekeeping. I talk to spirit, I teach the living, and I always save you a seat at my table.

My Story

It started with ghosts.

Twenty-five years ago I was the one reading every spiritual book I could find, watching every show with a medium in it, and by the early 2000s I had joined a paranormal investigation group, Vancouver Paranormal. I did not know I was being called forward by Spirit then. I thought I was just interested and a bit odd.

From seventeen to thirty-one, I sat with mediums whenever I got the chance. Watching Sylvia Browne on television had made me want to know what it felt like to be read. And here is the part I still find funny: nearly every medium I sat with told me I was a medium, since 17 years old. Not once did I believe them. I did not even entertain the idea.

So I followed the opportunities in front of me instead.

The first took me into the motor sports world. For close to a decade I travelled with national and international racecar teams, working for software developers and race shops. It eventually brought me to Squamish, working for a team here, which is where I met my husband, Nick - a real skeptic and non-believer.

Then something happened that redirected my life. I watched someone I love find sobriety and healing by reconnecting with our Indigenous culture. Something woke up in me witnessing it, it felt like I remembered something withing myself. I wrote a letter to the organization that had supported them, and that letter led to a career in First Nations health and wellness, and to being part of the early years of what is now the First Nations Health Authority.

I spent nine years there. I found my confidence there. I found a deeper connection to my own Indigenous identity and culture there. I loved that work, and I became a mother while I was doing it.

It was in that season, while I was becoming a mom, that mediumship came calling again.

This time it came through a medium, who became my teacher. She told me plainly that I was a medium. My response was immediate and out loud: "Angels wouldn't speak to me." I was thinking about every colourful thing I had ever done, thinking the divine would wince at what they’d witnessed.

She laughed at me. And then she said that was exactly what made me qualified to speak for Spirit.

I did not understand her then. I understand her now. The only prerequisite to mediumship is a life well lived. Spirit works through people who can relate to others, who carry empathy and compassion. And there is no way to build those things except by living, and living well.

So I began to develop, and I fell in love with it. It asked everything of me. I had to look at my inner workings and at my relationship to the world outside me. I had to learn the difference between what was mine, what was Spirit, and what belonged to other people in the room.

Very early on, in one of those classes, my teacher opened with spiritual philosophy. I remember sitting there and knowing, with a certainty in my soul, that one day I would teach this.

That is where I have found my greatest passion. Teaching, I considered my entire development path a teaching tool for others - and I made a podcast out of it, and eventually became a TV show.

I teach, without any reservations, everything I learned and continue to learn about mediumship, about healing, about reconnection, about how much better we do this together than we do it alone.

The Creator does not play duck duck goose with these gifts. Energy does not hold biases. Everyone has equal access to the world of energy and to the world of the ancestors. I will keep saying that for as long as people keep believing otherwise.

This work has taken me to the highest highs and A TV show came along and saw something in my story and my teachings worth amplifying to the world.

And friends, I am in my mid-40’s as I write this, and I feel like I am just getting started.

I have podcasted. I have YouTubed. I have built a school online and a school with walls. I have read for thousands of people. I have travelled to Indigenous communities to serve. I have devoted my life to the Spirit World, though I consider my body of work to be for the humans on this planet who want to walk a spiritual path too.

Wherever you find me in my story, I am happy you are here.

Thank you for being a witness to me.

Love Danielle

In my previous professional life, I had the privilege of reconnecting with my Indigenous culture by working at the First Nations Health Authority for 9 years. As one of the first 40 hires, I was part of the grassroots era assisting in the overall building consensus among BC First Nations communities for agency in First Nations health care policies. My time at FNHA was marked by powerful moments and significant projects that built my confidence and honed my leadership skills. The experiences and mentorship I received there have shaped me into the confident person I am today.

I trained in the evidential tradition of mediumship and I still sit in development myself, a lifelong student of this art. I am working to advance mediumship in practice, culture and discipline to include Indigenous perspectives, and to make it accessible to anyone who feels called to it.

The only prerequisite to mediumship is a life well lived.
